The Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials in Transport Aircraft Structures (AMTAS) is hosting the 2018 FAA Joint Advanced Materials and Structures (JAMS) Center of Excellence Technical Review Meeting. This year’s meeting is being held in conjunction with SAMPE 2018, SAMPE’s spring conference and exhibition. This schedule minimizes travel to both meetings as well as provides the opportunity for JAMS and SAMPE attendees to interact. This meeting is the fourteenth annual technical peer review of the research progress for JAMS, whose co-lead institution is the Center of Excellence for Composites and Advanced Materials (CECAM). The objectives of this technical review are to:
- Review the research of the JAMS Center of Excellence.
- Access current industry practice and compare that to the current research areas.
Professionals from the aviation community will also be providing feedback. This session will help JAMS and the FAA focus their research efforts appropriately to the needs of the aviation industry.
Attendees will be given background information on the research tasks prior to the meeting. The technical review will consist of presentations from the JAMS principal investigators.
The technical review is being held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. It will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23 and tentatively will conclude around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 24.
We look forward to seeing you!
